Hello! My name is Eliza Parsons and I am owner and occupational therapist at Empower OT, LLC, a mobile outpatient clinic serving clients in their homes and communities. I am excited to offer occupational therapy services specializing in lactation, maternal health and wellbeing, and pediatrics to the Philadelphia, MS and surrounding areas.
My own journey into motherhood left me feeling like mothers deserved more during pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond. Establishing successful breastfeeding was extremely difficult for my son and I, and we had to travel back and forth to appointments hours out of town to get the help we needed. I quickly found myself overwhelmed and struggling to cope with the demands of being a working, breastfeeding mother, managing a home, and finding time to take care of myself. And I was not alone. Mothers all around me were going through the same things I was experiencing with very few options to turn to for support.
In 2020, I began to make a huge career shift from geriatrics to pediatrics while learning everything I could about pregnancy, postpartum, breastfeeding, and infant/child development so that I could turn my passion for working with mamas and their little ones into an occupation therapy career that inspired me and served my community in a new way.
As mothers, we all want the same thing– to give our little ones the best start. Thus the vision for Empower OT, LLC was born – personalized support for mamas and their little ones during pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond.
